BUSINESS MEETING OF JANUARY 11, 2012

The meeting was called to order by President Marc Stermer.  The minutes were read and approved.  Robert gave the treasurer’s report, which was filed for audit.  Robert suggested that we move the savings to the checking account to maintain at least $2000 so that we avoid paying a $9.99 monthly service fee.  We still have a separate field fund.  We voted to do this.  We voted in 2 new members.  They are Gary Ferguson and his grandson Jacob Ball.

The January 1st Blue Ball was wet and cold.  There were 7 pilots.  Marc won the Dork of the Year trophy.

Tony talked about the HEF event.  The next event will be December 7th through 9th.  There were extra prizes that weren’t given at the event so we drew names and gave them out at the meeting.  In addition everyone got a meter from Lazar Toyz.  Next year we will do less magazine advertising and more in local newspapers.  Dennis will take over the HEF web site.  There were problems with it last time.  We want to have a family rate next year.  We will have a big raffle next time where we sell tickets to make it a better moneymaker for the club.

We want to get rid of the giant scale pylon equipment.  Tony proposed $1550 to the USRA.

Marc proposed some by-laws changes.  He wants to make juniors free, remove the adult junior combination renewal, and remove senior and disabled reference in the dues section of the by-laws.  These changes will be published on the web site.  We will vote on it at the next meeting.

Tony Husak is now the Associate Vice President of District 3 to represent northeast Ohio to the AMA.

Barry will run 50/50 raffles at meeting.  We will use the money for an end of year raffle.

Check the web site for dates of dome and great center flying.

Lazar Toyz is selling a Hacker plane to race for $70complete or $90 with battery.

A motion was made and passed to adjourn
