BUSINESS MEETING OF DECEMBER 14, 2011
The meeting was called to order by President Dale Ties. He thanked everyone for their support while he was president. He turned the meeting over to our new president, Marc Stermer. The minutes were read and accepted. Robert Woods gave the treasurer’s report, which was filed for audit. We voted in one new member. He is Frank Rebec.
No progress has been made on the jackets. We will table this until a good supplier can be found.
We had 9 pilots at the Thanksgiving Day fly. The weather was nice.
The HEF event had 214 register pilots. There was income of about $9000 and expenses of $3600. The Sprite Institute agreed to accept $4500. There is $800 to start next year’s event. Marc handled this separate from club money. We made $225 from the raffle. A Channel 3report on Friday brought more spectators on Saturday. We are looking for ways to improve the event next year. A motion was made and passed to have the event again next year.
Dale discussed events we might have next year. They included Gathering of Eagles, Debonne, club picnic, American Airlines Challenge, fun fly with the Geneva club, a picnic with ORCO, a giant scale event, night flies, and contest nights.
We will have a Blue Ball Fly January 1st at 10:00.
A motion was made and passed to adjourn.
